Description

First WIP has the original sketch I worked on: [link]

Second WIP cleans things up a little, and prepares things for a 'clean' transfer to an actual page:

This is that final draft, and to be considered the line art. I'm debating whether to do this digitally or traditionally.

Cassandra is a bit of a project, spawned from... Nothing. I actually came up with this desire to draw something, and she simply worked out. This is from a Roleplay based off of Pulp novels in a 1921 setting.
What's pulp? Think... Indiana Jones, or for a perfect TV series example; Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.

If you couldn't tell, I went for the 'Adventurer role,' or for a modern reference, the Tomb Raider role. For conventional purposes, she's had mens clothing fitted for a female body, so it's easier to 'explore.' Which is why the waist of the pants seem so wide, and aren't that low.

Also, a new for those familiar with how I do things; A background sketch! One that's being interacted with, by an actual hand that's not cut out. I tried to show a little depth with this, but I didn't want to muck things up with a draft stage. Basically, I tried to keep things as conventional as possible. As one would notice, there isn't much for accessories. At most, there's a necklace that's relevant to the story itself, and no other accessories. Unless you count holsters as such, but that's equipment.

My peeve? With debating on using desk space for the paper and my arms, or the laptop, I chose the former. So I didn't exactly have direct references for the holsters, or the knife. So I used memory for the gun-based, and practiced reaching back for the knife to know how I'd draw it. That is, with the palm away from me, and thus the thumb up top when grasping the handle, and also easier to snap off the security tether.

I would've had the braid thing as a peeve, but I have my personal way of getting that done so it's not too much of a pain.
